Pitching Coach Amanda Williams
Amanda Williams is arguably the best high school pitcher ever produced in the Bay Area. Williams began her prep career at Freedom High School in Oakley by leading the Falcons to the North Coast Section 3A championship, striking out 341 hitters and posting a 0.23 ERA. For that she was named State Freshman Pitcher of the Year by Cal-Hi Sports. By her senior year she had been named the Contra Costa Times only three-time Player of the Year, was selected California Ms. Softball for 2006 by Cal Hi-Sports, and was named an EA Sports All-American. Amanda was runner-up for National Player of the Year. She pitched Freedom to yet another NCS 3A Championship and to the Student Sports Fab 50 mythical national championship. As a senior Williams posted a 23-0 record with 365 strikeouts and a 0.07 ERA. She amazingly allowed only 10 hits and six walks for the entire season and hurled a state record three consecutive perfect games. Williams also pitched her club team, the Orange County Batbusters, to the ASA 18 Gold National Championship. Spinnng the ball well and making it move was the key to her success, something that she focuses on in her lessons with Sorcerer students. Amanda can be reached at 925-671-7529.
