Slapping/Bunting/Walk-Up Hitting

Many of the world's great fast pitch teams are a blend of speed and power, from the U.S. and Japanese national teams at the game's apex, to a number of the finest college and travel ball clubs. The 2009 ASA Gold National Championship Sorcerer squad was such a team.  The speed of the game is one of the characteristics that separates fast pitch from baseball and makes it more interesting to watch and play.  Speed comes to center stage in slap hitting and "small ball."  Hitters who can bunt, drag, slap and walk-up to swing (a la the USA's Vicky Galindo) become offensive weapons perhaps the equal of the game's premier power hitters.  Learning those skills provides an opportunity for the speedy smaller player to reach stardom and influence the outcome of countless games.  Slapping, offensive bunting, and walk-up hitting are Sorcerer instructional specialties, with present and former students using those skills in college programs nation-wide.  And more are on the way as recent Sorcerer early verbals have seen our players commit to Arizona, Northwestern and to Cal-Berkeley, among other programs.  So if you'd like speed to be your game, learn with the best - contact Phil or Danny.
