Sorcerer Players/Students Sign With Collegiate Programs
Congratulations to 16 Sorcerer players/students for signing with Division 1 collegiate softball programs.
Signees include Sammy Albanese, Northwestern; Shelby Asbury, Cal Poly; Tanna Bindi, CSU Northridge; Ashley Decker, Cal; Nikki Gentile, Iowa; Victoria Hayward, Washington; Jourdan Hitchings, Utah St.; Karley Hopkins, Nevada; Katie Keller, Louisville; Jenna Krummen, Santa Clara; Joanne Lim, Delaware; Alex Robben, Cal; Brittany Sabatini, St. Mary's; Chelsea Suitos, Arizona; Alyssa Tiumalu, UCLA; and Kim Westlund, Cal Poly.
"It is a major accomplishment for a player to be awarded a D-1 scholarship," Sorcerer co-founder Phil Mumma said. "We are extremely proud of these athletes who have played or studied with us for earning that distinction."
The new signees will follow in the footsteps of hundreds of Sorcerer-affilliated players who have gone on to collegiate softball careers, 57 of whom are playing this season for schools across the country.
"When Delmar Himango and I founded Sorcerer 13 years ago," Mumma said, "we did it with this in mind - to provide quality instruction that would enable athletes to reach the collegiate level. Sadly, Del is no longer with us, but he would be thrilled to see the extent to which our original hopes and dreams have come true - kids greatly succeeding in the game we both love."
