The MLB, or Elite Swing...The Big League Stroke Is Now Sweeping Softball

Cardinal Star Albert Pujols Goes Deep
Swing mechanics have changed enormously over recent years and without a great deal of fanfare. The stroke of the past - where hitters stood tall, squashed the bug, threw their hands to the ball and swung down - is as outdated as platform shoes, typewriters and adding machines. More than 95 percent of the hitters in the big leagues, the most elite male hitters in the world, no longer swing that way. Nor do a growing number of elite female fast pitch hitters. Why? Because the MLB stroke is much quicker, more powerful and more efficient. Rather than emphasizing the use of the hands and arms, the MLB swing utilizes the entire body, especially the core, to increase swing quickness. bat speed, and power. How can we be sure? Because high-speed videography and computer technology don't lie - they prove that the MLB swing is superior in every way, for both men and women. In short, contemporary mechanics simply are an improvement over those of the past. But that only makes sense. Techniques in all sports improve over time. Why would baseball and softball be any different?
Student Success -Why Sorcerer Stays on the Cutting Edge of Softball Training

Sorcerer Slugger Breanna Kostreba Homers
It isn't just the baseball stars of the American and National Leagues - Alex Rodriguez, Albert Pujols, Ryan Howard, Curtis Granderson, Joe Maurer, Derek Jeter, Buster Posey - virtually every successful big leaguer. It is the sluggers in the women's game, as well - Val Arioto (a Sorcerer student), Katie Cochran, Andrea Duran, Tammy Williams, Kristen Rivera, Caitlin Benji, and countless others. They are putting up huge numbers - lofty batting averages, home run totals, and slugging percentages - all as practicioners of the MLB swing. At Sorcerer, we could have quit learning at the end of our playing careers while advancements in the game continued on. But we chose not to. We spent hundreds of hours analyzing video tape of contemporary elite hitters. We exchanged information with other highly-regarded hitting coaches. We swung ourselves. We got better. We advanced as coaches. And we are thrilled with the results as our Sorcerer team won the 2009 ASA 18 Gold National Championship and our graduates continue to enjoy tremendous success in California and Nevada high schools, in other travel ball progams and on collegiate teams nationwide - even in the Women's College World Series and on the USA and Canadian national teams. So here's to the MLB swing! Learn more about it. There's no reason to live in the sport's past. The MLB swing will make you a better hitter.
